September and October

Ok. So round two of blogging. September was a crazy whirlwind. Not quite sure what happened to it, but October’s here and full of nice shows. Aside from discovering Bikram Yoga and becoming mildly addicted to it, September also contained my first gig with the Kenny Werner Trio. What an amazing experience it was so to play with such masters (Johannes Weidenmuller on bass) and in such an incredible environment (Sedona, AZ is pretty unreal…especially once you’ve become accustomed to city life).

I was also able to get a fair amount of recording done in my new home drum tracking studio this past month. Some commercial work, pop records and some world music. Very stimulating and rewarding. For more info on that please visit my “recording” page in the tabs above.

Some nice tours (southwest and midwest) coming up with Joel Harrison and various projects of his (including Harbor, Passing Train and Vox Americana). We’ll be doing clinics and private lessons at our various stops, so check his website (joelharrison.com) to see if we’ll be coming to a venue near you. As well, some dates with Seamus Blake’s quartet are coming up to check my schedule page for more info.

Thanks for reading/checking the info out and hope to see you soon!

August 18th, 2008

I’m here in the Denver International Airport. It’s about 3:55am, Mountain Time (or whatever it’s called here), and I’m patiently awaiting my 6:30am flight to LGA. So far August has been a blast; a great Canadian/East Coast Tour with Elisabeth Lohninger, a great tour/recording with Ben Markley, a slew of awesome gigs in NYC and some fun shows with Blue Man Group. This is actually my very first blog/website update thing…not sure why I felt the need to add that piece of information there, but, regardless of the fact that I could just delete and/or edit the passage, I’m going to continue in typical blog fashion as if one cannot erase one’s blogged thoughts. Where was I? Oh yes, check the schedule page for upcoming shows.
